"Dam Neck Beach Blast" is destined to become an annual favorite for families and friends alike as MWR presents a day of fun in the sun along the Atlantic Ocean.  The event, which is being held on Sunday, June 24th, is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! 

extreme sports expo & demonstrations
The afternoon kicks off with an extreme sports expo to include paddleboard, skate, surf & jet ski demonstrations and mini-clinics offered by some of the best instructors and outfitters in the area. 

live entertainment & fireworks dispLay
Local live bands, Aragona Project and Audiostrobelight, will provide entertainment from 5 to 7 p.m.  National Recording Artist, Bowling For Soup, takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. to perform several of their cheeky punk-pop music hits including “1985”, “Girls All the Bad Guys Want” and “High School Never Ends” while participants enjoy a delightful early summer evening filled with surf, sand and a cool breeze. The event concludes at 9 p.m. under a dazzling display of fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean.

A cornhole tournament, skateboard trick contest and strong man competition will begin at 3 p.m.

STRONG MAN COMPETITION
The strong man competition consist of teams of four or more, whom will compete in the following events: SQUAT & PRESS WITH LOG | TIRE FLIP | TIRE PULL | AMMO CAN RELAY | GLADIATOR PUSH-UPS

Surf & skate brand representatives
Surf and skate brand representatives from Volcom, Roxy, Quicksilver and Electric, will be on site giving away swag, and surf and skate stores including 17th Street Surf Shop, Wave Riding Vehicles and Juice Box will be on hand displaying a variety of surf, skate, paddleboard & assorted beach products.

great grilled & summer food by vendors
Several food vendors will be on hand offering summer's best grilled offerings for your ease and enjoyment.  Beer, wine and soda will also be available for sale. Participating vendors include Kona Ice of Tidewater, Jubilee, Jumping G’s Ice Cream, Spuds, Smoke Restaurant (BS BBQ) and Strawberry Street Events.

family fun & kid activities
There will be a kid's area complete with inflatables, rockwall and more!  The beach area has plenty of room to stretch out a blanket and chairs to enjoy the sun, sights and sounds of the ocean and scheduled activities. 

VIP tickets may be purchased in advance for just $20 and include entrance to the Shifting Sands Club where you will have access to a cash bar, complimentary snacks, a Mexican fiesta buffet and viewing of the concert and fireworks from the second floor deck of the club.
