School Age Care (SAC)
A mission essential program, the School Age Care activity offers a full range of services. During the school year, Before and After Care is available for children with transportation provided to area elementary and middle schools. All day care services are provided for school holiday weeks and school in-service days for enrolled members. During the summer months a fully developed recreation camp is offered to accommodate the children while school is out. School Age Care and day camps schedule a variety of age appropriate activities that enhance cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for family members five to 12 years of age. Field trips and special events are offered and free to all participants. Cost for care services are based on total family income. SAC Programs are all fully accredited with the National After School Alliance (NAA).
Youth Program
This program offers a variety of youth activities for all ages. The open recreation youth activity is for pre-teens ages nine to 12 years. The open recreation teen activity is for teenagers 13 to17 years (18 if still in high school). A wide range of fun and exciting events are scheduled weekly for participants and there is no cost to attend. These two activities are scheduled to be open in the late afternoons during the week, late Friday nights and Saturdays. All youth programs offer Boys and Girls Club and 4-H activities, as well as DEFY, a drug education for youth program sponsored and funded by the Department of Justice and the Drug Reduction Task Force. These unique activities provide a well-rounded curriculum that encourages leadership and character development. Other programing areas for youth are fitness activities, sport leagues and special events that are scheduled throughout the year. Contact the center nearest you for dates and offerings. Note: Retired personnel family members are eligible to utilize youth programs.
